Now, I am a former Latin teacher who has never been to Italy. I have a BIG itinerary for this country so bear with me.  First, let's tour Roma itself. These are just a few of the places I would visit. After having read many books about Italy, I would also like to visit Venice (before it sinks!), Milan, Florence, and the Tuscan countryside.  Thanks to the many authors who have described these places so vividly as to inspire me to put them on my list of "TO DO" if and when I ever get to  Italy.
